Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco, Mexico is a wonderful vacation destination on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It is known for its beaches, water sports, nightlife, cobblestone streets, and it’s TENNIS. There are many great tennis clubs if you are looking to play tennis while you are here.
The best public tennis clubs in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico are Parque Parota, Canchas de Tenis Sheraton, Canto del Sol, and the Narval Tennis Club. These clubs are open to the public, although they require a fee and sometimes a court reservation during busy times.
There are many other options, as well, but they are considered private clubs and can only be played if you are invited by a member or staying at that particular resort/hotel.
Surprisingly, tennis is quite abundant in Puerto Vallarta, but pickleball is becoming extremely popular as well due to the many senior vacationers that visit this destination.
Parque Parota – Tennis and Pickleball
On Google Maps, this location is labeled as the Puerto Vallarta Open because it is the official home of the Puerto Vallarta Open ATP Challenger that is hosted every year.
At Parque Parota, they have three tennis courts that are beautiful outdoor hardcourts. They are kept in immaculate shape every year to be ready for the ATP Challenger. They have a tennis shop with tennis accessories (balls, racquets, grips, etc.) and can string your racquet for you.
Parque Parota is also the top destination for pickleball in Puerto Vallarta. They have two permanent pickleball courts that are always busy and well-attended. However, the club frequently turns the tennis courts into extra pickleball courts by setting up temporary nets. Guests can rotate in to play in pick-up games and always have a good time.
Canchas de Tenis @Sheraton
Canchas de Tenis at the Sheraton is perhaps the best located tennis club if you are staying in Centro or Zona Romantica. It is about a 15-25 minute walk, depending on where you are staying. They have a very friendly staff and teaching pros on site. They also have a small shop with tennis restringing, tennis balls, and drinks for sale.
They have four hard tennis courts that are in fantastic shape. The courts are used for practice sessions for the players competing in the Puerto Vallarta ATP Challenger. Although the club is located at the Sheraton, it is right along the street, and outside guests are welcome to use the courts if they pay a fee.

Canto del Sol Tennis Club
Canto del Sol is one of the best places to play tennis in Puerto Vallarta. They have six tennis courts. Two are red clay and four are covered hard courts. They have tennis instructors on site. Outside guests are welcome to play for a fee.
The four covered courts are important because they protect you from both the hot sun and rainy days. They were the only covered tennis courts that I was able to locate in Puerto Vallarta. The two outdoor red clay courts are beautiful and offer an authentic red clay experience.
The facility itself is remarkably beautiful. The covered courts have a lengthy bleacher sitting area so that any guests you bring can also relax in the shade.

Narval Tennis Club
Naval Tennis Club is an equally impressive club as Canto del Sol and is probably my favorite. However, it is the tennis club closest to the airport and the farthest away from Zona Romantica and Centro. You will need transportation if you are staying in those two locations.
They have four hard tennis courts plus an awesome two-story restaurant, bar, and lounge. And they will gladly help connect with you with some good local players. They are often busier at night, with the lounge popping and the courts full with players. It is a great place to come hangout, watch some tennis, and have dinner.
