Pattaya Tennis Guide: Where to Play Tennis and Meet Players

Fitz Club tennis court in Pattaya, Thailand

As a tennis player, there are plenty of options to play tennis in Pattaya, Thailand. Some of the facilities are impressive and would be considered top notch anywhere in the world.

And as a visitor in Pattaya, having a hobby like tennis is an important thing. At times, the city can be overwhelming and carry a feeling of loneliness, despite the abundant amount of bars and restaurants. Fortunately, the local Thai players and expats are passionate about their tennis.

The best facilities to play tennis in Pattaya are the Fitz Club, Siam Bayshore Resort, and Greta Farms Sports Club. There are other options such as Tara Tennis Club, Tos Tennis, and the Dusit Thani Hotel, plus several other hotels with tennis courts.

Beach tennis is also a growing sport in Pattaya. The courts can pop up temporarily on Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach, in addition to the 7 beach tennis courts at Greta Farms. The tennis is played on beach sand, similar to beach volleyball, has a raised net, and you can use your tennis racquet to play the game.

Where to Play Tennis in Pattaya

Fitz Club at Royal Cliff Beach Hotel

If you are looking for the best of both worlds – decent location and great tennis facility – then Fitz
Club
is your best option. Fitz Club is the only sports centre in Pattaya that won the TripAdvisor
Traveler’s Choice Award 2023.

It is located on the premises of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group, a spectacular 5-star resort with 4 luxury
hotels on the vicinity.

The Fitz Club has 7 tennis courts, uncovered, but in good shape. They have recently renovated their
centre court #7 using the latest Laykold Technology with the beautiful Artic and Miami
Blue combination. They also added a cushion layer to protect players’ knees and legs.

Fitz Club also has highly qualified tennis instructors to help improve your game or you can just book
a court. If you are visiting for the day then the club offers day pass rate that includes access to a new
swimming pool with Jacuzzi in a tropical oasis vibe and a state of the art fitness gym with new
cardio equipment. They offer a variety of membership programs depending on how long you are
staying in Pattaya.

Coming from Pattaya Beach, the Fitz Club is located 3 kilometers away, which is located much nearer
than Greta Farm, but a little further away than Siam Bayshore. A short taxi ride is all you need.

Like Greta Farms, the Fitz Club also has tennis tournaments, including ITF Masters and Junior Tennis
Championships.

Siam Bayshore

Siam Bayshore resort hotel is another one of my favorite places to play tennis in Pattaya. It’s not the best facility or the most prestigious, but it has the best location if you are staying close to Walking Street and Pattaya beach, where most visitors do. It is easily walkable from there.

This facility has three outdoor hard tennis courts. They play fast, so slice and flat shots are especially effective on the surface.

At Siam Bayshore, I found it easy to meet tennis players to play with. There are a whole variety of players from beginner to advanced. And in the afternoon, every court was booked, which is a good indicator of a vibrant tennis community.

The cost was 150 Baht per person per hour, and visitors are welcome. Please keep in mind that prices fluctuate over time, usually going higher. Other variables such as using the lights at night can also raise the price. The courts are located right at the entrance to the resort and are visible from the street.

Greta Farms Sports Club

For tennis facilities, Greta Farms is another good choice for tennis in Pattaya. They have six covered tennis courts that are beautifully constructed. The covered roof is a great amenity, as it protects you from the sun and allows play during rainy days. The tennis courts were newly resurfaced in 2022 and play fantastic.

Greta Farm has a covered roof over all 6 tennis courts.

The only catch about Greta Farms is that it is a good distance from downtown Pattaya. Located in the Sattahip District, it is about 18 kilometers from Walking Street and the Pattaya beach tourist attractions.

The Greta Farms Sports Club also serves as a really nice resort and good place to bring a family on vacation. You can book condos and enjoy a relaxing visit there.

Greta Farms is home to ITF professional tennis tournaments. They also have 7+ beach tennis courts that are adjacent to the tennis courts.

Tara Tennis Club

I was impressed with the Tara Tennis Club, a new facility constructed in 2022. They have three newly resurfaced hard courts, including one of them with a covered roof. The courts have a ton of space behind the baseline, like a professional tennis court.

The only downside, like Greta Farms, is the location, which is about 10 kilometers from Walking Street. The tennis facility is located on the premises of the Tara Pattana International School. Tennis players and visitors are welcomed to enter.

They do have tennis instructors for hire, as well as some equipment for purchase in their pro shop. There is also a cafe on site, the Gourmet Primo shop, that serves sandwiches, drinks, and coffee.

TOS Tennis Academy

I’m hesitant to speak on the condition of courts, because things change over time (court resurfacing, new coaches get hired, etc.) But the courts at TOS Tennis Academy do need resurfacing. Fortunately, there are plans to have them resurfaced at some point.

This facility has two courts, one is in better shape than the other. The court conditions are fine for beginner play but would not recommend it for advanced play.

On a positive note, I was impressed with the tennis instructor’s clever teaching techniques. He uses a variety of teaching aids for juniors (small nets, swing enhancers, and a trampoline hitting wall.)

In addition to the tennis courts, TOS Tennis Club has a swimming pool, locker room, and training gym on site.

It is the closest tennis facility to Jomtien Beach, another hotspot for Pattaya tourism, and is located inside the Baan Suan Lalana residences. You can walk right into residences and straight to the tennis courts.

Dusit Thani Hotel

If you are looking for the best view in Pattaya while playing tennis, then the Dusit Thani Hotel tennis courts are the right place. Located right next to the beach, the three tennis courts have a beautiful background of mountains and beach in the same view.

The location is good and not too far from Pattaya Beach and Walking Street. The only catch with these tennis courts is that you are supposed to be a guest at the hotel in order to play tennis on them. The hotel is very nice, so it would be a good option to stay.

Another overlooked perk about the Dusit Thani Hotel, is that it is right next to the Terminal 21 shopping mall. The mall has lots of restaurants, a food court, clothing, and most anything you could possibly need.

***Thank you for reading. I hope this article helped you. I really enjoyed playing tennis in Pattaya and visiting all these tennis facilities. I hope you do to. Pattaya is passionate about their tennis. I plan to return at some point and catch up with my newfound friends.
